WoW Deathwing custom pony resculpt sketch design 1

Description

Tonights Livestream sketch session went very well indeed! I still have to figure out how to be able to play music in the background without the CPU usage soaring through the roof, so for this time, we went with no sound, and Livestream chat only.

Anyhoodle!

Yes, this is usually how I work out how my intensely resculpted custom ponies are going to look in the end. Starts with a side shot, then a back shot, and under belly shot.

Only problem with this, there are NOT clear shots of Deathwings belly online. I've looked, trust me.

So yes, this certain custom resculpt pony will be a pony take on Deathwing from World of Warcraft, for Caramel. I'll be starting off using a G3 pony in Kimono's pose.

And for those of you asking, I use ArtRage Studio 3.0.6. when I sketch digitally. It has the most natural feeling and flowing look of all programs that I've come across, and is STILL the closest thing to traditional medium looks in digital format.

Plus I like that I can put my reference images right in my work space, instead of having to minimize windows all of the time.

( EDIT 2/1/2014: Giving proper credit where credit is very much due! Turns out that the zoomed in reference image on the top left was created by an amazingly talented artist here on DA: :icondreamspirit:, and the person who took the photo was :iconivyerimenta:. You need to see this sculpture. It blows the mind the amount of amazing detail that's in it.

Hey there!  I'm the original artist of the piece you have in the top left there, and I'd appreciate if you credit myself and my photographer in my art if you're going to use it in an upload to deviantART, even if you're just using it as a reference (which is really cool, by the way!).  I really don't appreciate that you appear to have removed my watermark, though. :-/
