I'll be honest, when I was working on the original sketch, I tried figuring out how to put some pants on the boy, have it still fit his tail, but still be the usual mid or low rise pants I normally put on my male characters. If he had a thinner tail base, it would have worked, buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut not so much with his thick tail base.
In the end, it just became one of the talking pants amongst myself, friends, and other artists in the MangaNEXT artist alley ( did the sketch, tight pencils, and inks at my table in the MangaNEXT 2012 artist alley ). So I kept him pants-less in the end. Hey, he's nekkid normally anyway!
Off topic now... your user icon! I can just imagine Spike yelling out, "Wooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!". X3 Too cute!
The poor dragon boy got slammed back and forth with the cutesy wootsie crap in that episode! No boy wants to hear that they're cutesy wootsie, or that they have the, "cutest widdle chubby cheeks", especially coming from the girl they're crushing on. Treating him like she would her sister, Sweetie Belle.
I'll stick with Rarity pre-Dragon Quest. XP
