The Ginger Snaps commision piece is finally finished. Originally when I first started the piece, I was just going to have a simple one color background... but people hinted at me to add a background of some sort. I didn't have much space to work with in order to add anything like buildings or a room or anything, ...but after watching play Shadow Hearts 2, and being inspired by a certain section of Rasputin's temple, I started sketching out that flesh and bones wheel behind the sisters.
Heh, figured the movie(s) have a ton of blood and gore anyway, and Ginger and Bridgette were all into taking photos of death *fake deaths, but death none the less*, and the whole werewolf factor *also digging into the third movie with the wolf hunts*, that it kind of fit them...
And of course, had to add the monkswort... I think in the movie they used a different variation of monkswart, but I couldn't remember, aaaaand... yellow monkswart was the only decent reference picture I could find .
But YEAH!
Finished piece for Jesse!
3h pencils on 8.5 x 11 inch cardstock
Inked with Speedball Super Black india ink and number 2 round sable hair brush
Black and white photocopy *I try not to color on the original inks, just in case*
Prismacolor Markers and white gel pen on the photocopy.
Tossed into Adobe Photoshop 6 for touch ups, stamp, and such.
Don't ask how long it took to work on, I did this in intervals and lost track of the time over the past few weeks .
And just to keep things clear, YES, this is based off one of the movie promo photos at the customers request.
Question:
If I sold it as a mini print on my Etsy shop, think people would buy it?
hehehe love ginger snaps
