Ashes Knight with his new sword!

Silly me, I had forgotten to make the sword for Ashes Knight custom, so came up with this little bad boy!

The original design plans called for it to be a Scottish Claymore, but I REALLY need practice in making the cross guard without fudging it up. Perhaps if I sculpt the blade separate from the hilt, and attach the two pieces later, as I've seen done in real swords?

So I kind of made a cross breed between a Roman soldiers sword, and a Scottish Claymore.

My first totally from scratch hand sculpted sword!

The pommel crystal is actually a tear drop shaped glass bead, and the rain guard is set with two Swarovski crystals. The sword itself is sculpted with Apoxie Sculpt, painted with simple acrylic paints, and sealed with both glossy and matte varnishes.
