And the white base painting for the Angel of Death is finished!
For those of you who don't know who the Angel of Death is based off of, I insist you borrow a copy of the movie, Hellboy 2: The Golden Army, by Guillermo del Toro.
And YEP, this DID originally start out it's life as a G3 My Little Pony!
Some have asked in the past why I do paint a total white base onto my custom sculptures before I start REALLY painting.
Well, think of it like priming a canvas. It kind of helps to give the paint something else to grab onto, and the base also helps punch your final colors out.
Plus, I think it looks cool when it's base white paint stage. That's why sometimes when I purchase "ready to paint" sculptures and toys, I sometimes just leave them as is, in their simple white stage. Leaves a lot to peoples imaginations.
I love your ponies, but brony their faces scare me a bit! Do you lengthen them or something? it looks like it and that just wigs me out for some reason.
Actually, I don't really, with the exception of the Angel here. Extended the back of his skull and forehead for that headplate his. Adds a nice bit of creepiness. XP
